Copy, paste, duplicate and delete
Copy an element with Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, duplicate it from the right-click menu, and delete elements with a confirmation step so you don't lose work by accident.
You don't have to rebuild similar tables, text labels, or areas from scratch. Copy, paste, and duplicate let you reuse an element, and delete removes one for good, with a confirmation so a stray keypress can't wipe out your layout.
Copy and paste an element
- Select the element on the canvas.
- Press Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C on a Mac) to copy it.
- Press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V) to paste it.
The pasted copy appears offset from the original, not stacked directly on top of it, so you can tell the two apart right away. Drag it into place afterward.
Duplicate an element
Duplicating does the same job in one step, without needing the clipboard.
- Right-click the element you want to copy.
- Select Duplicate from the menu.
The duplicate appears offset from the original, just like a paste. If you duplicate a table, the new table keeps its size, shape, and style, but arrives with no seats assigned. This keeps you from accidentally creating a second table full of the same guests.
What can't be copied
Images can't be copied, pasted, or duplicated. If you need another copy of an image, add it again from the toolbar so the file uploads and links to the chart correctly.
Delete an element
- Select the element, or select several at once.
- Press Backspace or Delete, or right-click and choose Delete.
- Confirm the deletion when asked.
Deleting always asks you to confirm first. If you change your mind after confirming, use undo to bring the element back.
Where to go next
- Undo/redo and how saving works if you delete something you meant to keep.
- Layer elements to control what sits on top after you paste or duplicate.
- Lock elements in place once your layout is finished.
