Why this layout

Forty guests fits five rounds of eight, which is the largest layout that still opens on the free canvas. The tables sit in a loose arc facing the stage rather than in a grid, so nobody at the back is looking at the back of someone's head. Leave about five feet between table edges so servers can reach every chair, and keep the route from the entrance to the bar clear.
