Bulk-add empty seats
Create a batch of placeholder seats at once, with a shared name prefix and an optional group, so you can fill in names later.
Sometimes you know how many seats you need before you know who's sitting in them, like when you're blocking out a section for a school class or a corporate table before names are confirmed. Bulk-add creates a batch of placeholder seats in one go.
Create a batch of seats
- In the seats sidebar, click the plus icon to open Add Seats.
- Switch to the Bulk Seats tab.
- Set the Count for how many seats to create.
- Add a Prefix if you want the seats named as a series, like "Guest" for Guest 1, Guest 2, and so on. This is optional.
- Pick a Group if these seats belong to a party you want to color-code together, or create a new group from the same dropdown.
- Click Create.
You'll see a progress bar while the batch is created.
After they're created
The new seats land in your Unseated list, named by their prefix if you set one. From there you can:
- Rename each seat once you know who's sitting in it, using the same guest form you'd use for anyone else.
- Drag them onto tables one at a time.
- Let SeatPlanning distribute them across your tables automatically.
Where to go next
- Assign guests to seats to place your new seats on the canvas.
- Add guests manually once you're ready to fill in real names.
- Auto-distribute guests across tables to seat a whole batch at once.
