Set your event name, date, and location
Fill in the first step of the setup wizard: your event name, an optional description, the date, and a location guests can find.
The first step of the setup wizard asks for the basics: what your event is called, when it happens, and where. These details help you keep track of your chart, and they show up for guests if you collect RSVPs.

- 1Give your event a name.
- 2Add an optional description.
Name your event
Type a name into the Name field. This is the only field you need to fill in to move forward, so pick something you will recognize later, like "Sarah and Tom's Wedding" or "Q3 Sales Kickoff".
Under that, you can add an optional Description. Use it for anything guests should know at a glance, like a dress code or a short welcome note. You can leave it blank and add one later.
Add a location
The Location field suggests addresses as you type, so you can search for a venue or street address and pick the right match instead of typing the whole thing out. If you would rather show a general area, such as just a city name, type that instead of a full address.
Location is optional, but filling it in now saves you a step later, especially if you plan to invite guests through a public RSVP page.
Set a date
Select the Event Date field to open a calendar and pick the day of your event. This is also optional at this stage. If your date isn't set yet, skip it and add it once you know.
How this shows up for guests
If you turn on a public RSVP page for this chart, the name, description, date, and location you set here appear at the top of that page, so guests know exactly what they are responding to. If you leave the location blank, that section won't show at all.
Where to go next
- Choose which guest fields to collect for the next step in the wizard.
- Chart settings overview to change these details later.
- Share a read-only chart (public view) once your event details are set.
