Share a read-only chart (public view)
Turn on public view to share a no-login link that lets anyone see your seating chart, and protect it with a password if you want.
Sometimes you want someone to see the chart, a partner checking the table layout, a venue coordinator, a curious guest, without giving them an account or asking them to respond to anything. That's what public view is for.
Turn on public view
- Open the chart in the editor and select Share in the canvas toolbar.
- Find the Public View switch.
- Turn it on. A confirmation message reminds you that anyone with the link will be able to view the chart without signing in. Select Enable Public View to confirm.
Once it's on, a Public Link appears. Select Copy Link to grab it and send it however you like, by message, email, or on paper. You can also turn Public View on or off from your chart's Chart Settings section, though the password option below is only in the Share panel.
What people see
Anyone who opens the link sees a live, read-only view of your seating chart. They can look around, but they can't move anything, add guests, or change settings. If your event details, name, date, location, are filled in, those show too.
Add a password
If you want to limit who can open the link even though it doesn't need a login, use the Password protect field that appears in the Share panel once public view is on. Type a password of at least four characters and select Save. From then on, anyone opening the link is asked to enter that password first. Share the password only with the people you want to have access.
You can set a new password at any time by saving over it, or select Remove to take the password off. Removing it makes the link open freely again, without ever changing the link itself.
How this is different from collecting RSVPs
Public view and RSVP collection solve different problems. Public view is for people who just need to see the chart. Collecting RSVPs is for guests you want to hear back from, it sends them to a form where they confirm attendance and answer any questions you've set up. Turning on RSVP collection switches public view on automatically, since guests need to open the chart's public page to respond. But you can use public view by itself, with no RSVP form at all, whenever all you need is a shareable, read-only link.
