Text, icons, images and rulers
Add text labels, icons, images, and measurement rulers to your floor plan to label rooms, mark entrances, drop in a venue photo, or check real-world distances.
Beyond tables and seats, four more elements help your floor plan communicate clearly: text, icons, images, and a measurement ruler.
Text labels
Use text for room labels, table group headers, or any note you want visible on the layout.
- Click Text in the toolbar, then click on the canvas to place it.
- Select the text element to open its formatting toolbar.
- Choose a font, adjust font size with the plus and minus buttons, and toggle bold.
- Set alignment to left, center, right, or justify.
- Pick a text color and, if you want a highlight behind the words, a background color.
You can copy a text element's styling and paste it onto another text element, so a whole set of labels stays consistent without setting each one up from scratch.
Icons
Icons mark things like entrances, restrooms, or a bar on your floor plan.
- Click Icon in the toolbar.
- Use Choose icon to search a large library and pick the one you want.
- Set its Size with the slider.
- Pick a Color.
- Optionally, type a short label under the icon and choose whether it sits above, below, to the left, or to the right of the icon.
- Click Create.
Images
An image lets you drop in a venue photo, a floor plan scan, or a logo as a visual reference behind your layout. Image upload depends on your plan.
- Click Image in the toolbar.
- Drag and drop a file, or click to browse for one, then click Add Image to Canvas.
- Turn Maintain Aspect Ratio on or off depending on whether you want the image to keep its original proportions while you resize it.
Once placed, drag the image's corner handles to resize it on the canvas.
Rulers
A ruler measures real-world distance directly on your layout, useful for checking that a walkway is wide enough or a row fits between two walls.
- Click Ruler in the toolbar, then click on the canvas to place it.
- Drag either endpoint to set its length. The length label updates as you drag, shown in the unit your display settings use.
- Select the ruler to change its color from the small toolbar above it.
Where to go next
- Getting around the editor for a tour of the canvas and toolbar.
- Create your first seating chart to start a layout from scratch.
- Add guests manually once your tables and seats are in place.
