Organize guests into groups and families

Create color-coded groups to cluster a family or party, and turn on group highlights so you can spot them at a glance on the canvas.

When you're planning a wedding or a big family event, some guests belong together, a family, a group of coworkers, a table of old friends. Groups let you tag those guests and see them at a glance while you seat everyone.

Create a group

You can create a group from a couple of places: while adding or editing a guest, or from the group manager.

To use the group manager directly:

  1. In the seats sidebar toolbar, click the Seat Groups icon to open Manage Groups.
  2. Enter a name for the group, such as "Smith Family" or "College Friends".
  3. Pick a color to represent it.
  4. Click Add.

From the same dialog you can edit a group's name or color later, or delete it. Deleting a group doesn't delete the guests in it, it only removes the label.

Assign guests to a group

When you add or edit a guest, use the Group dropdown to assign them. You can also assign a group when bulk-adding placeholder seats, so a whole block of seats starts out tagged together.

See groups on the canvas

Turn on Show Group Highlights from the sidebar toolbar to color guests on the canvas by their group. This makes it easy to check whether a family ended up spread across tables you didn't intend, or to confirm a party is sitting together before you finalize your layout. Turn it off again with the same button when you want a clean view.
