Add companions and plus-ones

Give a guest one or more companions — partner, children, plus-ones — each with their own contact details and custom field answers. Reseat the guest and their companions move along with them.

Some guests bring people with them — a partner, children, a plus-one. Instead of adding each of them as a separate, unrelated guest, you can attach them to the primary guest as companions.

Add a companion to a guest

  1. Open the guest's form, either by adding a new guest or editing an existing one.
  2. Scroll to the Companions section and select Add companion.
  3. Fill in the companion's own First Name. Last name, email, and phone appear here too, matching whatever your chart requires for guests generally.
  4. Optionally set their Role — Partner, Child, Guest, or none — so you can tell companions apart at a glance.
  5. If your event has custom fields, like a meal choice or a song request, the companion gets their own set to answer. Their answers don't have to match the lead guest's or each other's.
  6. Repeat Add companion for anyone else coming with this guest, then save.

Let guests add their own companions at RSVP

You don't have to add every companion yourself. In your event's RSVP settings, turn on Guests can bring and choose how many companions each guest may add. Guests then see a Bringing anyone? field on the RSVP page and can add their own companions, up to that limit. You can still add, edit, or remove companions yourself at any time afterward.

How companions behave

A companion is tied to the guest who brought them. That means:

  • They share the same table and the same RSVP status as the lead guest.
  • In the seats sidebar, they're shown together with the lead guest as one card, so you always know who's coming with whom.
  • When you drag the lead guest to a different table or seat, their companions move with them automatically. You never have to seat them separately.
  • Highlighting the lead guest highlights their companions too.

Edit or remove a companion's details

Open the lead guest's form again. Any companions they already have appear ready to edit in the same section — change their details there, or select Remove companion to delete one.
